The Vice President for Academic Affairs is the chief academic officer of the college.  The Deans, Associate and Assistant Vice Presidents, Director of the Library and Academic Computing, the Registrar and Director of Continuing Education report directly to the Academic Vice President.

The duties of the Associate Vice-President for Academic Affairs include directing the College's General Education Program, coordinating graduate programs, directing the Freshman Seminar Program, developing program articulation with two-year colleges, and developing programs and services for transfer students, directing the Individualized Major Program, coordinating interdisciplinary institutes, and coordinating the National Faculty Exchange Program on the Plattsburgh campus.
